Important upcoming dates to remember

The Thanksgiving holiday is fast approaching. There will be no classes from Nov. 21-29. Residence halls reopen Nov. 29 at noon. See the complete fall semester calendar listing.

Will your student need a ride to the airport for the Thanksgiving Break?

The Smart Way bus will be providing non-stop express shuttle service from campus to the Roanoke Regional Airport on Friday, Nov. 20 and Saturday, Nov. 21. Students must register for the service by Nov. 6 at 5:00 p.m. in order to ride the express shuttles. Class of 2011 Ring Premiere and Grad Fair

The Class of 2011 will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Virginia Tech ring tradition. Juniors will see the design of their class ring unveiled at Ring Premiere on Oct. 13 at 7:00 p.m. View all the details about the Class of 2011 ring sale.

Also don’t forget to remind your graduating student about Grad Fair on Oct. 21 from noon to 5:00 p.m.


Researchers at the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research (IALR) develop blue-ribbon daylily in familiar colors

A team of researchers at the Institute for Sustainable and Renewable Resources (ISRR) at the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research (IALR) in Danville, Va., has developed a prize-winning daylily sporting maroon and orange hues.Learn more about the triploid daylily, known simply as #33.
