Gobblerfest is an annual festival intended to engage students in campus activities and connect with the surrounding community while inspiring curiosity, civility and self-understanding.
Gobblerfest was conceived in the fall of 2008 as a welcome festival for students, staff, faculty and members of the Blacksburg community. This free event has become a highlight of the start of the academic year. An estimated 22,000 people attended the 2012 event.
Gobblerfest is an excellent way for students to meet each other, explore common interests, and become a part of the Virginia Tech community, all in a healthy, alcohol-free setting. Student organizations, businesses, non-profit organizations, and Virginia Tech departments will offer food, games, free giveaways, and volunteer service information at booths around the Virginia Tech Drillfield. The day's schedule will also include a variety of entertainment.
Businesses interested in becoming a sponsor of Gobberfest 2013 can sign up now by contacting Simranjit “Sim” Singh at gobblerfest_sponsors@vt.edu or 571-521-9253.
