Who can use recreational sports facilities and programs?

Recreational Sports facilities and programs are open to all students, staff, and faculty. Selected programs and facilities are available for use by spouses, dependents, and alumni. However, McComas Hall is reserved for student use only. For more detailed information regarding use of facilities and programs, come by the Recreational Sports main office in 142 McComas Hall.

What is the process for reserving recreational facilities?

Student organizations and university units may reserve facilities by contacting the department’s facility scheduler in room 125L War Memorial Hall or by visiting Recreational Sports, where online reservation application forms and instructions can be found.

Can I purchase tickets for athletic events (i.e., football tickets) at the UUSA Ticket Office?

No. Sports related tickets must be purchased from the Athletic Ticket Office in Cassell Coliseum. Please call 231-6731 or 800-VATECH4 (800-828-3244) for more information.

Will I need my Hokie Passport when purchasing tickets at the box office?

Typically, you will not be required to present your Hokie Passport when purchasing tickets, though there are a few exceptions. However, a valid Hokie Passport is required at the door when attending an event with a Virginia Tech Student ticket.

What are the UUSA Ticket Office hours?

The ticket office is open on Monday through Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The office is normally closed during winter and summer breaks and certain university holidays. But remember you also buy tickets on-line, visit the Ticket Office for more information!

Where is Venture Out located?

Venture Out is located in 117-C Squires. This is in the back of the Break Zone.

Can I rent gear through Venture Out?

Students can rent all types of gear, including tents, sleeping bags, cookware, canoes, outdoor games, and more for outdoor activities.

What is there to do in the outdoors that is close to Virginia Tech?

Venture Out features many outdoor adventures and programs. The staff can guide students to camping sites, hiking trails, canoe routes, rock climbing sites, backpacking sites, and more.
