Reality Check: What Every Student Should Know About Alcohol Use at Virginia Tech

Students overestimate the use of alcohol by peers. This program is designed to provide students with insights concerning "actual" alcohol use on the Virginia Tech campus using an interactive exercise and discussion format.

Speak Up/Speak Out

Many students experience numerous secondary outcomes as a result of peer drinking behaviors, including interruptions to studying, lost sleep, and a messy apartment. Unfortunately, few students feel they can do anything that will make things better. While most students indicate they are tired of secondary outcomes resulting from their peers' alcohol consumption, only a few students will speak to their peers about this issue. This program will help empower students to make a difference by showing other ways they can deal with secondary negative outcomes related to alcohol abuse.
