Division of Student Affairs awards selection process
The Division of Student Affairs awards reflect the division’s mission and include the following:

Campus Community Award

Program Award
-
Service Award
-
Partnership Award
Awards will be presented on an annual basis early in the fall semester for the previous year (July 1 through June 30).
Selection Process
Nomination forms will be available on-line and in hard copy format. Nominations will be submitted in written form to the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs. Each nomination will be sealed in an envelope with the name(s) of the nominee(s) on the front of the envelope. The envelopes are to be placed in a campus mail envelope addressed to the Vice President for Student Affairs (0250) and mailed or hand delivered to 112 Burruss Hall.
Selection Committee
The selection committee will be appointed by the Vice President for Student Affairs after the list of nominees has been determined. The committee will be composed of:

Three (3) classified personnel

Three (3) faculty personnel
-
One non-voting member from the previous year’s committee to serve ex officio
The following guidelines will apply to the selection committee:

The Vice President for Student Affairs will designate one of the selection committee members as chair.

No selection committee member can serve as a voting member two years in a row.
-
No department can have more than one representative serve on the selection committee at the same time.

Five of the six committee members must be present for the committee to make a final decision on award recipients.

The chair will vote in the case of a tie or to make quorum for the final decision on recipients to be made.

All selection committee meetings are confidential.
Award Eligibility

All full-time employees in the Division of Student Affairs are eligible to be nominated for an award.

Award recipients cannot receive the same award two years in a row.

Award recipients cannot receive two awards in the same year.
Recognition of Recipients

Award recipients will each receive a cash award of $200. In the event that a group of 2 to 5 employees is selected for an award, a maximum of $300 will be divided equally among the recipients. In the event that a group of 6 or more employees is selected for an award, a maximum of $300 will be proportionally divided among the departments in which the employees work. Award funds given to departments are to be used for an event or token of appreciation for award recipients.

Recipients or groups of recipients will receive a framed certificate.

The names of the recipients or group of recipients for each award will be engraved on a plaque that will be displayed in a prominent location on campus.
